Understanding Release Notes

These posts represent all major and minor changes, features, fixes, and updates made to the AmeriCommerce Software.

All posts are tagged with the major version that the update applies to. For example 2012.1 or 2012.2. The date is also representative of the version of that release.

To find out if an update applies to your site you will need to check whether the major version and date matches the version of your AmeriCommerce store. This is found in the footer of your admin in the format of 201Y.X.MDD.x

A version number is broken down into the year, major release, build date, and build number. For example 2012.2.508.1 would mean it is the 2012.2 major version released on May, 8 and is the first build of that day.

If you are interested in getting a feature applied to your site ahead of the routine update schedule please enter a support ticket.

    subdomain

I have a domain name and a website hosted at GoDaddy.
I plan not to mess up the existing website and the hosting and use AmeriCommerce's remote cart feature just for shopping cart and payment.
Can I keep my domain name at GoDaddy and create a subdomain (most likely store.mydomain.com) then assign that subdomain to the AmeriCommerce store?

    Re: subdomain

Absolutely.  And that is a great alternative to us being the full on website, you get all the power and order management, marketing and more but you get to keep your existing site or wordpress/drupal site, etc.  Personally I think it's one of our coolest offerings, plus you still get the mobile and facebook store to supplement your site if needed.

A support ticket can help walk you through the logistics of it, its very simple.

    Re: subdomain

I have a related question about domain names.

For example: pretend I owned the domain gadgetshoes.com and want that to redirect to a certain category in my main store (www.mystore.com/shoes/gadget).

    Is that possible?

    Re: subdomain

Hi. Just to clarify on this, a ticket needs to be opened and we will then be given further instructions?

    Re: subdomain

Yes. A ticket needs to be opened in order for us to assign the dns tasks to a networking agent.
