I suggest adding your idea to the 'Feature Voting' area. If you are in a hurry, contact support and get a quote to have the feature implemented much sooner.

Work around works but is there a chance this gets implemented in the future versions?

There's not a way (that I'm aware of) to have this automatically, but you can set it manually for each product. One the General tab, set Base Price to 0.00 and then enter the language you want displayed in the No Price Mask box. I usually use the word "Varies" so that I don't have to change this every time pricing changes, but you can put whatever you want there.

Hi is there a way to show a range of prices for an item that has variant pricing?

For instant I am selling shoes with different sizes and each size has a different prices ranging from $29 to $69.

I want it to show $29 - $69 on the item when they search the catalog and not just one price that I set.

I have no issues setting variant pricing but the customer can't see what the price is until they choose the size option.
