Google HIGHLY recommends placing the Asynchronous code immediately before the closing head tag </head>, per Setup Tracking Code Instructions: http://www.google.com/support/analytics/bin/answer.py?hl=en_US&answer=174090&utm_id=ad
However when placing the above code in the store head tags, the ##GOOGLECONVERSIONTRACKINGASYNC## appears within the source code of every page. The previous merge code did not appear when placed in the footer. Will this create an issue with tracking?
NGB's suggestion/fix doesn't seem like a clean implementation, as the code is split between the <head> and <body> tags.
Thanks,
Dave
