Understanding Release Notes

These posts represent all major and minor changes, features, fixes, and updates made to the AmeriCommerce Software.

All posts are tagged with the major version that the update applies to. For example 2012.1 or 2012.2. The date is also representative of the version of that release.

To find out if an update applies to your site you will need to check whether the major version and date matches the version of your AmeriCommerce store. This is found in the footer of your admin in the format of 201Y.X.MDD.x

A version number is broken down into the year, major release, build date, and build number. For example 2012.2.508.1 would mean it is the 2012.2 major version released on May, 8 and is the first build of that day.

    For stores selling items that are shipped via a specific method, based on quantity purchased, how do you recommend we setup shipping?
     
    Brand A's Widget A - Sells for $nnn.nn each.
     
    - Quantity of 1 ships individually via UPS/FedEx based on package weight and package size. 
    - Qty's 2-10 are packed in groups of 2, up-to 5 separate boxes, via UPS/FedEX based on package weight and package size.
     
    - Quantities of 11-100 are packed onto pallet(s) and ship via LTL Freight due to packaging size and overall weight.
     
    Each of the three scenarios above have different product qty's per case, package weights and package dimensions.

    How are AC customers to handle this in each product's shipping settings?  We can't use the package dimensions or package weights since it can vary per shipping method.
     
    The current shipping settings are seemingly only geared for stores selling small qty, lightweight orders via UPS/FedEX only.

    Not sure what to think. 
     
    1.  I'm the only AC customer with products like this.
     
    2.  Other AC customers (with same issue) have a method, but don't want to share.
     
    3.  AC Staff doesn't read these forums.
     
    4.  AC Staff doesn't have a solution, or response.
     
     
    Not looking good for us.

    Dave,

    With AmeriCommerce, we can break shipping down all the way to the product level.   Once you get to the product level there is really no way to specify how different qtys or variants of that product will ship.   

    You could use call for pricing on those products to get the customer a quote after they place the order or you could make a couple different products.   One that allowed more than 10 to be purchased and one that was for up to 10.   

     If you want to call me I would be happy to brainstorm with you and see if we could think of something that may work for you.   By just reading your post though, I can't think of an easy solution to just put in place for you.
