Specific image placement on the front page

I'm trying to place images in specific areas on the Home Page and am having trouble getting them to stay where I place them.  Is it possible to place images outside a table?  when I try, it places the image at the top, center of the page.  Should the layout be done without using a table?

Any help you can provide would be helpful.

    Hi Brian,

You can place images inside or outside a table. There are no restrictions. You could control placement with tables or CSS (the better option). A good resource for learning html and css is www.htmldog.com

    Hope this helps!

I don't know much about HTML or CSS, however, when I use the WYSIWYG and place an image outside the table I created and then save it, whn I go to view it on the web, the image shifts to the top, center of the screen.  Is there anything I'm doing wrong?  Is there more to it than placing the image where you want it and saving it, so long as I do not exceed the width of the home page?

I can't tell where you may be placing the image to understand what is happening. Typically, an editor would allow you to align an image to the left, center or right. You won't be able to pick an exact placement for it without using tables or CSS. Placing it in a table with a specific row/column/cell would give you more control with the placement.
