    Variant pricing & quantity discount

I have a product that comes in 7 variants.  They are all the same price.  I want to set it up so customers can buy any 3 of the variants and get quantity pricing.  One is 9.95, 3 would be 9.50 each.  I know this is possible, but I can't figure out how to set it up.  The closest I get is buying 3 of one variant and getting the discount.

What do I need to do to make the discount apply to any 3 of the variants?

There are a couple of variations for entry here, check out www.julie-ann.com and their product page, www.hatcastle.com too for a slight variation of it.  Tell me which works best for you or if i'm way off base and we'll go from there.

There is a store setting called "Apply Quantity Discounts Across Variants" that will allow you to do what you are wanting. After you enable that setting you can just add a simple quantity price to the product and it should work.

Thank you, Ed.  I'll do you one better...here is an example from my own industry: http://www.diaperco.com/store/p/349-BumGenius-3-0-One-Size-Cloth-Diaper.html.  This is exactly what I want to do.  I'd just ask her but I don't know her all that well!  But it's done on her site so I know for sure it's possible.  If I choose any three of the colors listed, I get the discount.

    Thanks!

Yes that is just the quantity grid display, it should be visible by default.  If you enter pricing into the advanced pricing tab of the product editor (1=$5, 6=$4, 12=$3, etc) it will show there.  Then there are styles on the product page related just to that grid so you can make it look like you need with different colors and such.  Let me know if that doesnt help.

I may have misread your post, if you just want the quantity applied across the variants, Dustin's response above is how/where you set that.

I think Dustin's response is the one I'm after.  Where is that?  Is it a checkbox somewhere that I'm just not seeing?

    Thanks!
