I would like to make a global discount that says" Buy 3 or more of a specific category and receive a 5% discount.

IE: You buy 3 mix-n-match spline shank bits (there are 20+ sizes to choose from) you get 5% off the matched items.

The problem is there is only a total order quantity rule, not a matched item quantity rule.  Therefore, a person can buy 2 spline shank bits and a third unrelated item and the bits will still be discounted 5%.

I would think a rule that would say "category quantity is greater than 2" then you get 5% off matched items.  

Has anybody else run into this type of problem?  Thanks...MJP

It would also be good to add this feature for specific manufacturers as well.  I think this would be very beneficial!

I am with you 1000%, we nee dthe ability to restrict promos to specific items int eh cart, not the qwhole cart (liek free shipping on an item, % off item, etc)
