AmeriCommerce Awarded PayPal Shopping Cart Certification

AmeriCommerce announces certified integration between the AmeriCommerce Shopping Cart Software and the new PayPal Express Checkout service. This new service adds to the existing PayPal payment methods AmeriCommerce integrates with including Website Payments Pro, Website Payments Standard, and the Payflow Pro gateway.

AmeriCommerce has worked together with the PayPal certification teams to test and verify all aspects of the integration with PayPal. In response PayPal has certified the AmeriCommerce Shopping Cart software for these payment models.

PayPal Express Checkout integrates directly with the AmeriCommerce Shopping Cart Software to provide a simplified checkout process for all PayPal customers where the shopper provides their payment information to PayPal, rather than the storefront. In the wake of our support systems integration initiative which is streamlining our support process and give us a stable platform to deliver all support related materials, we did find the time to update our clients page. There have been many new customers over the past few months, some of them making use of our wide breadth of features and settings. We have updated the page to show what key features each customer uses to help guide prospective and existing clients on how AmeriCommerce can work to meet your eCommerce needs. Every customer does things a little bit differently, and there are many use cases showcased on the example page, each case a little different than the others.

We have made a huge leap ahead this past 2 weeks and have upgraded our core product AmeriCommerce and all supporting products and systems to use the newest version of Microsoft's .Net technology and Visual Studio 2005 the latest and greatest development environment. Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 boast huge performance improvements and developer productivity gains of up to 30% and will undoubtedly lead to improvements in both the quantity and the quality of the code coming out of our development teams here at AmeriCommerce. .Net 2.0 ushers in a new era of web development letting us natively use technologies such as Ajax (a way for small pieces of a page to communicate with a server rather than the whole page being posted back), Presentation frameworks, Work flow frameworks, new team systems that enhance collaboration between developers and so much more.

Many thanks for the beta customers out there who have helped with this upgrade and your patience throughout the upgrade process. There are many new things planned including changing the admin to be snappier and quicker using these partial page postbacks, better theming support and just an overall refresh of the admin tool and options for the front end. This upgrade was a major stepping stone and keeps us on the cutting edge of development tools and technologies, something our customers have come to expect and love about AmeriCommerce. It would have been much easier to sit back under our older systems and grow comfortably at the cost of our customers' businesses, but we forged ahead cutting a clear path for the future of both our customers and AmeriCommerce.

In an effort to continuously move forward and bring together all of the different help options for our customers we have created this new help portal with many new systems integrated into it. Help us all pull together and support each other by using it to collaborate with your peers, suggest features, log and track issues, request support and more! Below are some of the key areas of the new help portal.

Help Desk Ticketing: an organized way of responding to customers and categorizing issues, bugs and feature requests.

Knowledge Base: Published questions and answers

User Forums: A community of users and support staff all working together to ask and answer questions.

Popup Help: We use this in the AmeriCommerce administration console to give direct immediate help for the feature you are looking at. Less theory and big picture than immediate feature specific knowledge. We are planning to add a link straight to related KnowledgeBase articles from here since they will contain more information and other related articles themselves.

AmeriCommerce Chooses Internap as Primary Datacenter for Its Shopping Cart Hosting Services

Beaumont, TX September 12th, 2006 -- AmeriCommerce has chosen Internap’s Houston facility as its primary datacenter for its shopping cart software hosting services, positioning the company for future growth and the highest service quality possible.
